Adam Webster celebrates his goal against Tottenham.

The central defender scored his third of the season against Jose Mourinho’s men when he headed home Pascal Gross’s free-kick in the first half, but he admitted the result in the capital was tough to take after the hosts ran out 2-1 winners.

He said, "We got ourselves into a good position a few times in the first half and I thought we played really well.

"It’s disappointing that we didn’t continue in that way after the break but Tottenham made it difficult for us.

"Overall it’s frustrating not to get anything from the game. We feel like we’re performing well at the moment on the whole but we’re just not getting results that those displays deserve."

Webster's Spurs reaction

Webster's header means that all of the summer signing's goals have come away from home, but he was keen to turn his attentions to Saturday’s game with AFC Bournemouth at the Amex Stadium rather than looking back on what might have been.

"We showed that we can mix it with the big sides in the division today," he added.

"We have to take the positives from this afternoon into our next few matches, because it’s a massive period with a lot of games in a short space of time.

"We have less than two days until our next match now, so we have to put today behind us and get ready for another big game in front of the home fans."
