Avoiding defeat would see Simon Rusk’s side progress to the next stage, after victories over AFC Wimbledon and Southend United, both by a 2-0 scoreline. It means the Seagulls currently sit at the top of Southern Group C.
An own-goal from Nik Tzanev and a late strike from Bojan Radulovic sealed a 2-0 win over the Dons at the start of September, before goals from Taylor Richards and Warren O’Hora gave Albion three points against The Shrimpers last month.
Simon Rusk’s men were impressive 4-1 winners over Southampton in Premier League 2 on Friday night, as goals before the break from Alex Cochrane and Danny Cashman were added to with a brace from Richards in injury time to seal the victory on a wet and windy night along the south coast.
