We secured the services of Mooy on a season-long loan deal from Huddersfield Town on Thursday afternoon, and the Australian midfielder insists he’ll give everything to help the team achieve success during the club’s third season in the Premier League.

He said, “I’m delighted that I’ve been given this opportunity; it’s one that I’m really looking forward to. I’m going to give everything, and I can’t wait to get started and settle in.

“You always want to play at the highest level. Brighton gave me this opportunity and I’m very happy and proud to be here. I’ll try everything and do my talking on the pitch.

“There’s obviously a new manager now and I’m sure he has his own way of doing things. I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can and trying to help the team.

“People have told me that he wants to play nice football, passing on the ground — that’s exciting and that’s how every footballer should want to play.”

Meet Aaron Mooy!

The 28-year-old could make his Seagulls debut in today's curtain raiser at Watford, and he spoke of the positive impression the club has made on him in previous seasons, before looking ahead to Albion’s visit to Vicarage Road this afternoon.

“The stadium is fantastic and the support is always there. The team has been very well organised over the previous few seasons — a good structure and great players," he continued.

“It would be amazing to play on Saturday, but we’ll see. I’ve got to try and settle in a little bit and get to know my new team-mates.

“Every player would like to score goals, but I don’t just think about scoring goals. I’d like to help the team in all areas and that starts this weekend.”
