Brighton & Hove Albion kick off their Barclays FA Women’s Super League season in September, and their early season opposition is a mix of last season's title challengers and mid-table rivals.

The season starts away from home for Hope Powell’s team, with a trip to the Stoke Gifford Stadium to face Bristol City on Sunday 8th September.

Last season’s meeting proved to be a frustrating one for the Seagulls, who came so close to sealing a victory, only to be denied by the crossbar keeping out Ini Umotong’s effort. The match resulted in a goalless draw.

Chelsea will provide the first test at The People’s Pension Stadium one week later on Sunday 15th September. The Blues proved to be a difficult opposition to overcome for Albion last term, with the Champions League semi-finalists completing a hat-trick of wins in league and cup matches over Powell's side.

The team is back on the road for the third match of the season, facing a tricky trip to Borehamwood on Sunday 29th September to take on reigning WSL champions Arsenal.

West Ham United provide the second home opposition of the season on Sunday 13th October, and the Seagulls will have fond recent memories of playing against last season’s FA Cup finalists.

Despite losing out 1-0 at The People’s Pension Stadium last season, Albion were victorious in their final match of the 2018/19 campaign against the Hammers, as goals from Kayleigh Green, Megan Connolly, Amanda Nilden and Ellie Brazil secured a 4-0 win in east London.

A trip to Merseyside rounds off the first five matches of the season, with Albion taking on Everton in Southport on Sunday 27th October. Hope Powell’s side were put through a rollercoaster of emotions in last season’s fixture, starting with joy, as Dani Buet's thunderbolt gave the Seagulls the lead.

However, the happiness was short lived and Everton found themselves 3-1 up with 15 minutes remaining until Ellie Brazil's brace of headers secured a draw to bring home the club’s first points in the Women’s Super League.

Don’t miss out and be part of the action for all 11 Barclays FA Women’s Super League matches. Season tickets are available now, priced at £30 for adults and £10 for under-18s, with games played at The People’s Pension Stadium, Crawley.
