Albion have 23 players on international duty

Albion have an impressive 23 players representing their countries across the world over the next few days during the first international break of the year.
Midfielder Mats Wieffer became the latest call-up on Monday when he was added to the Netherlands’ squad along with Bart Verbruggen and Jan Paul van Hecke for their Nations League quarter-final against Spain with the first leg in Rotterdam on Thursday and the return three days later in Valencia.
Ireland face Bulgaria in the same competition and the Irish squad includes two players on loan at present in Evan Ferguson and Andy Moran while Brajan Gruda has linked up with Germany's under-21s for two matches against Italy.
Qualification for the 2026 World Cup continues for our African players.
Simon Adingra (Ivory Coast), Carlos Baleba (Cameroon) are both in squads who currently top their qualifying group after four games but Yankuba Minteh and Gambia are currently fifth in Group F.
The South American qualifiers are also in full swing.
Joao Pedro’s Brazil also face two qualifiers including a meeting with world champions and group leaders Argentina in Buenos Aries. Pervis Estupinan’s Ecuador are currently third in the table and La Tri will be looking to strengthen their position against Venezuela and Chile. Paraguay are a point and a place below Brazil in sixth and Diego Gomez and Julio Enciso will be hoping to help them get good results against Chile and Colombia.
Kaoru Mitoma has linked up with Japan for their qualifiers against Bahrain and Saudi Arabia while goalkeeper Tom McGill is in Los Angeles where Canada play Mexico in the CONCACAF Nations League semi-finals with either a third-place play off or final to follow depending on the result.
For Yasin Ayari (Sweden) there are friendlies to look forward to in Luxembourg and at home to Northern Ireland.
Albion have four players in England’s age group squads: goalkeeper James Beadle, currently on loan at Sheffield Wednesday, and Jack Hinshelwood are with the under-21s for games in France and against Portugal at the Hawthorns next Tuesday. England’s under-17s have three matches at St George’s Park with Freddie Simmonds and Harry Howell both involved.
Three players – Jamie Mullins, Jacob Slater and on-loan Mark O’Mahony – are with Ireland’s under-21s for games against Scotland and Hungary.
