The club can confirm that Michelle Agyemang has returned to her parent club Arsenal permanently to continue her recovery.
Women’s first-team head coach Dario Vidosic said, “It was a real privilege to welcome Michelle back in the summer and work with her for another season. Naturally, we’re disappointed that her second loan spell with the club has come to an end, but her rehab and mental wellbeing must remain the priority.
“For someone so young, her talent on the pitch and her strength of character off it are truly remarkable. She has been a leader within our squad, and we’re confident she’ll be back on the pitch very soon.
“Michelle has the full support of everyone at Brighton during her recovery, and she will always have a place here at the club.”
Managing director of women's and girls' football Zoe Johnson added, “We were delighted to welcome Michelle back to the club in the summer. She is an incredible young talent on the pitch and her character off the grass was a big asset to our dressing room.
“We’re sad to see her go prematurely, but her physical health and welfare must take precedence.
“We’ll continue to keep in contact with Arsenal and support Michelle and her family during her recovery. Everyone at Brighton is behind her during this journey."
The young striker re-joined Albion in the summer transfer window after an impressive Euros campaign with Sarina Wiegman’s lionesses.
Agyemang scored one goal in eight appearances for Albion this season.
