We’re delighted to confirm the permanent signing of central defender Maelys Mpome from Chelsea, subject to the usual regulatory processes.
Head coach Dario Vidosic said, “We’re pleased to have Maelys with us. She’s had some exposure to the WSL already and we feel she can really develop with us.
"She’s a versatile defender with a lot of good attributes and we’re looking forward to working with her.”
Maelys joined Chelsea from Montpellier before the start of last season and made eight appearances for them in 2024/25 in the WSL, League Cup and Champions League. She was part of the Chelsea squad that won the domestic treble last season.
The 22-year-old was with Montpellier for four years prior to heading to England and made more than 70 appearances for them. She’s also a member of all the youth French national teams including one camp with the senior team earlier in 2025.
She came through the academy of French second-tier club VGA Saint-Maur.
MyAlbion+ members can redeem the voucher code, LatestSigning2526 on the rewards platform to action the Maelys Mpome signing challenge.
