Brighton & Hove Albion and MPB were delighted to welcome the latest winner of our Focus on Her competition, Esme Barron, to Broadfield for our women’s team’s 3-2 win over Manchester City in April.
Having got to use MPB-provided camera equipment for the game, her work will feature in the official matchday programme as well as on our social media channels.
MPB’s Andy Lorton said, “Ably supported by the Canon EOS R3, Esme smashed the brief of telling the story of the game.
“From fan action through to key moments of match action, we loved these images. In particular, the huddle shot as Albion celebrated a goal on the way to a superb result.”
Esme said, “It was a great experience photographing Brighton’s thrilling 3-2 win against Manchester City. I am grateful to MPB and Brighton for giving me this fantastic opportunity.”
Esme combined her passion for women’s football with her hobby in photography, giving her a new career, having previously trained as a dancer.
She travels to home and away matches for Liverpool Feds as their photographer and went to Switzerland last summer for the women's Euros as part of Free Lionesses, supported by the Football Supporters’ Association (FSA), to capture the passion of the fans and players.
The Focus on Her campaign spotlights female photographers and their work.
