Our women’s first team cruised to a 5-0 win over Crystal Palace in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Friday afternoon.
Goals from Kiko Seike, Nadine Noordam, Marisa Olislagers and Bex Rayner, as well as an own goal, saw Dario Vidosic’s team control proceedings at the American Express Elite Football Performance Centre.
There were also debuts for new signings Chiamaka Nnadozie and Carla Camacho, who joined us from Paris FC and Real Madrid respectively.
Madison Haley should have put Albion in front after 20 seconds when she got on the end of Seike’s cross to the back post, but the American forward fired over, before Fran Kirby saw her curler well kept out by a diving Shae Yanez in the Palace goal.
We weren’t to be denied though, despite our opener after five minutes was slightly fortuitous. Rachel McLauchlan’s cross from the right was fired straight into the legs of Hayley Nolan, who inadvertently turned the ball past Yanez.

The Eagles keeper kept her side in the game with an outstanding stop from Kirby’s close range effort – the England international couldn’t quite believe she hadn’t scored – before Seike added a second, pinching possession, flicking the ball past a defender and rolling the ball into the bottom right corner.
Albion’s intensity was carried into the second half and they scored immediately after the restart. Moeka Minami crossed in from the right and Noordam dived in to head home from the edge of the six-yard box to make it 3-0.
Olislagers rifled in from range to make it four with 49 minutes played and the final scoreline was confirmed nine minutes later as Rayner acrobatically converted Seike’s cross.
