Head coach Dario Vidosic was delighted with the performance of his side, following a narrow 1-0 defeat to European champions Arsenal in Sunday's WSL game at the Emirates.
Marisa Olislagers’ first-half own goal was all that separated the sides, with the Seagulls creating a number of chances in a game that saw Gunners' keeper Daphne van Domselaar named player of the match.
She pulled off a superb save to deny Carla Camacho's goalbound header – one of a number of efforts Albion created on the day.
“I'm very proud of the girls when we see the opposition goalkeeper holding the player of the match award at the end of the game,” said Vidosic, “She's certainly played her part, having made some fantastic saves, and in a tough game, with some great challenges, we walk away with many positives.

“Yes, it's a little bit frustrating to lose but we gave a good account of ourselves. We're in a difficult moment where we're very light as a squad and we've lost two starters as they couldn't play against their parent club today, but there were a lot of good things to take from the performance.
“Whether it's away or at home, we want to win every game but we also have to put certain situations into context. With a thin squad at the moment, fatigue played its part towards the end of the game. It's also our third game in a week while they were bringing on some good players at the end – so even though it was a loss we remain positive, we dust ourselves down and we go again in the League Cup [against Southampton next Sunday].”
There was real concern for Albion defender Maelys Mpome, who was knocked unconscious in the second half and needed ten minutes of treatment pitchside. Fortunately she was up and speaking following her return to the Albion dressing room – another real positive to take from the day.
“She's up and about and having a shower which is very good news,” Dario added. “She will continue to be assessed but fingers crossed she's okay as it's important for players to come off the pitch as healthy as when they stepped on it.”
