Head coach Shannon Ruth felt our MU21s deserved something for their efforts against Real Sociedad in the Premier League International Cup.
The Spaniards won 2-1 on Wednesday but there is a quick opportunity for Albion to bounce back when they take on Paris St Germain on Sunday (12 noon).
Harry Howell got the goal against Sociedad for an Albion team containing seven scholars.
Ruth said, “I think a draw would have been fair against a good opponent who were hard to break down.

“There was nothing really between the teams in the first half and their first goal came out of nowhere and probably shocked us for a little while. There was a ten-minute period where I thought they were on top, then the game evened out.
“In the second half, I thought we were better. We got back into the game and their second goal came at a poor time for us when we had built up a bit of momentum. We huffed and we puffed and there were a few chances towards the end but they saw the game out very well. They were slightly older than us and play in a senior league and that showed.”
PSG have won both matches so far including a victory over Chelsea last week.
“It will be a tough test and a good challenge for our guys,” added Ruth. “We have got the FA Youth Cup two days later [away to Spurs] so we will have some players involved in the PSG game and some players prepping for Spurs.
“For the academy, to have PSG on Sunday and then for the youth team to have Tottenham on Tuesday is going to be a good few days for us and one the players are looking forward to.”
