Head coach Arturo Ruiz felt his side didn't get what they deserved after watching Albion suffer a 1-0 defeat to Spurs in the Subway Players Cup.
Ruiz watched his side compete well with the WSL’s top scorers but couldn’t convert their chances and Tottenham sealed victory thanks to Olivia Holdt’s first-half goal.
“I am a little bit disappointed because I think that the girls and the fans deserve more when we perform like this," he said.
“But on the other hand, I am really proud that we were this competitive, that we had this clarity against a really good team, and that we were almost there in terms of getting something positive.
“I know it's not enough. It's not enough even for me and not for the club, but we will just keep pushing because we are doing great things.
“We just need to keep building, finding some more details, and very soon things are coming that will be very positive.”
Ruiz, who arrived a week before the start of the season, says he can see the steps forward that his players are making.
“I see the progression. The team has clarity on what they do and what we do, and that's the most important thing.
"And I feel proud and confident of my team, but we obviously will keep working even harder to get points and to get positive results because we all know that we need to enjoy that experience of winning games.”
