Head coach Arturo Ruiz has issued a rallying cry to the fans, calling for them to come in their numbers to the Broadfield Stadium today as his side look to sustain their impressive momentum against WSL rivals Crystal Palace.
Albion go into the contest having scored nine goals without reply in their last two games - a 3-0 win over West Ham last Saturday and a 6-0 victory against Wolves on Wednesday in the Playersâ Cup.
Reflecting on his teamâs recent form, the Spaniard emphasised the importance of their upward trajectory and the squad's relentless desire to develop.Â
"We are in a very good position," Ruiz said. "We are very strong, and learning and growing after a victory always helps. We are in very good momentum, but we all know that we need to keep improving. We need to keep knowing each other, and we just need to be better each day."
Sunday's fixture against Palace carries extra weight, mirroring the fierce rivalries Ruiz experienced during his time in Spain.
Having managed Real Sociedad in the fiercely contested Basque derby against Athletic Bilbao, as well as experiencing intense regional clashes while at Atletico Madrid and Granada, Ruiz knows what these games mean to the fanbase.
"I loved that kind of game, the derby, when I coached Atleti," he explained. "In Granada against Sevilla, it's also a rivalry like here with Crystal Palace. In Real Sociedad, playing Athletic Bilbao is a big thing. So here it's going to be the same, and I hope for the best attitude and, above everything, a great number of fans on Sunday.
"I hope itâs going to be a beautiful day," he added. "We want the stadium as full as we can because we are giving 100%.
"Because of the rivalry and what we want to achieve in this season, there are three points that are important for us, so we are going to give 100% to try and get them."
