Arturo's thoughts...
"When we played Charlton last week (4-0 win) our activation level and clarity in all moments were key. We enjoyed it a lot because it was a home game with our supporters, and we are looking forward to getting a second one this Sunday, although it is not going to be easy."
Stats and facts
This will be the first meeting between Albion and Charlton Athletic across the WSL and WSL2.
Albion have won four of their last five meetings with Charlton Athletic across all competitions (L1), already beating the Addicks 4-0 at home last month in the Players Cup.
Albion are winless in their last seven WSL games (04 L3) - only once have they endured a longer streak without victory in the competition: nine matches between November 2022 and April 2023.
Charlton Athletic are the only team without a point in the WSL this season - the Addicks could become the third team to lose their first five matches in the competition after Yeovil Town (first 7 in 2017) and Leicester City (first 9 in 2021-22).
Albion's only win across their last eight WSL home games came against then-future champions Manchester City in April (03 L4); meanwhile only Aston Villa (4) have won fewer home points in 2026 than the Seagulls (6) among ever-present sides.
Charlton have managed just two shots on target and 16 total shots in four WSL games this season - no team have ever averaged fewer than 1.5 shots on target per match in a single Women's Super League campaign, while four shots per game is also currently a record low.
The average open play sequence time for Albion in the WSL this season is 10.3 seconds, compared to 8.4 seconds last term; the Seagulls average 423 completed passes and 12.3 open play sequences of 10+ passes under Arturo Ruiz, compared to 349 and 7.2 in the 2025-26 campaign under his predecessor Dario Vidosic.
Charlton have netted just one goal in the WSL this season and could be the third team to fail to score in four of their first five matches in the competition after Notis County (4 in 2011) and this weekend's opponents (4 in 2018).

Should she feature in this match, captain Maisie Symonds will overtake Kayleigh Barton for the most appearances made for Albion in the Women's Super League (currently 86).
Lorena Azzaro is yet to take a shot for Charlton Athletic in 130 minutes played in the WSL. Last season for Paris FC in the French top-flight, the striker averaged three shots and two shots on target per 90 minutes, while scoring eight goals at an average of one every 122 minutes.
