Albion's MU21s were denied a deserved victory five minutes from time as ten-man Leeds staged a late show on Sunday.
Shannon Ruth’s youngsters posted their third draw in their last four outings in PL2 after catching a cold from a corner.
It had looked as though Adam Brett’s 74th-minute goal would be sufficient to grab all three points at the LNER Stadium in York.
And when Leeds’ defender Connor Douglas picked up his second yellow card for tripping the visitors’ goalscorer moments later the balance appeared to swing in the visitors’ direction.
But the hosts forced a corner and Harvey Vincent bundled the ball home to prevent Albion from returning to winning ways in what was their fourth successive away match.

Brett had needed just 13 minutes to make his mark after coming on as a substitute just after the hour
The striker seized upon a misplaced cross field pass from left-back Jayden Patipe Lieneu, controlling and then firing into the bottom corner.
Ruth and his backroom staff welcomed Joe Knight and Nehemiah Oriola back into the squad, less then 24 hours after both had made their first-team debuts from the bench in the 3-0 victory over Leeds United.
And the Seagulls survived an early scare when Steven Hall was called into action to block Harry Gray’s shot after lively right-winger Harvey Vincent pulled the ball back from the byline.
But they recovered to work their way into the game. By the interval, they were one goal to the good. They were unfortunate not to be further in front.
Oriola fired an opportunity into the stands from the edge of the penalty area midway through the half. The next time Albion threatened, they took the lead.

A neat passage of play ended with Ibrahim firing low into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.
Ten minutes later, the teenager was denied his second. He connected sweetly with his side foot on the volley from Sean Keogh’s clip into the area from the left, only to see Leeds’ keeper Rory Mahady pull off a superb instinctive reaction save to send the ball over the top.
Ibrahim was involved in the last action of the half, his deep corner was met at the far post by Noel Atom, the big defender sending his header the wrong side of the post.
Albion dominated possession after the interval but were pegged eight minutes into the second half.
Leeds player-coach Jonny Howson threaded a pass from inside his own half down the channel to Rhys Chadwick. The midfielder cut onto his right foot before drilling a low shot into the bottom corner.

Boosted by that, Leeds enjoyed their best spell of the game. Hall enjoyed his best moment just before the hour, stopping low to his left to prevent Vincent from adding a second.
Brett then stepped in with a decisive contribution before Vincent had the last say.
