Our men’s and women’s teams’ matches this weekend will mark the passing of former women’s and girls’ head of coaching, Rado Vidosic.
Rado passed away at the beginning of the week, aged 61, having previously worked for Brisbane Roar, Sydney FC, Melbourne Victory and Wellington Phoenix.
Our teams will wear black armbands and a minute’s applause will be held at both matches.
Women’s interim head coach Chris Roberts said, “It has been a really challenging, sad week for everyone at the football club and around the world who have paid their tributes to Rado.
“Rado was one of the most incredible men that I have ever met. He lifted people, made them smile and had the most amazing football brain.
“His legacy across the football world will last for a long time. We send our love and thoughts to the Vidosic family and everyone who knew Rado.
“I want to pay a tribute to one of the best people I have ever been lucky enough to meet and work with here. He was a mentor, friend and one of the funniest people.
“Rado is going to be sorely missed, his legacy across the football world will last for a long time.”
Men’s first team head coach Fabian Hurzeler said, “I feel very sorry for Dario and for his family. I was in touch with him and said that I really appreciate that the things his father gave to the club.
“His passion, his love, he was always there – he was always fully committed. So it was a pleasure to work with him. We all feel for Dario and we will give him all the time he needs.”
