Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed the signing of defender Costinha from Olympiacos on a five-year contract for undisclosed terms, subject to international clearance and the completion of the usual regulatory approvals.
The 26-year-old Portuguese full-back will join us after establishing himself as a regular in Greece, where his defensive reliability, energy down the right flank and growing influence in possession have made him a key figure for Olympiacos domestically and in Europe.
Head coach Fabian Hurzeler said, "Costinha is a player we have followed closely for some time. He has the defensive capabilities, intensity and understanding of what we value and we feel he will be an excellent addition to the squad.

We sit down with our latest summer signing Costinha as he looks ahead to his time at the Albion.
"He is also comfortable in and out of possession of the ball and will add competition at right-back, alongside our existing options. I am delighted he has chosen to continue his development with us in the Premier League.”
Costinha, whose full name is João Pedro Loureiro da Costa, began his career in Portugal, developing through the academy system before breaking into senior football with Rio Ave, where he gained valuable experience in the Primeira Liga at a young age.
His performances there earned him a move to Olympiacos in 2024, where he would go onto make 74 appearances.
He has also represented Portugal at under-18 up to under-21 level.
