Starting in Spain, Castellon moved top of La Liga 2 as they beat Girona 2-1, with Rodrigo Rego and Matias Orozco making their first league starts for the Spanish side.

Moving briefly back to home soil, Leicester City enjoyed a timely win as Tommy Watson came on for the final 15 minutes of Leicester City’s 4-3 win over Stockport County - Harry Howell was an unused substitute for the Foxes.

Amario Cozier-Duberry scored on his league debut for Middlesbrough, netting the opener in a scintillating 4-3 win against Norwich City, while James Beadle’s Birmingham City secured a 2-1 win over Eiran Cashin’s Derby County - both players started for their respective teams.

Jess Pegram got her first start for Hammarby in a comfortable 3-0 win against Vaxjo and Brajan Gruda got a full 90 minutes in Leipzig’s 5-0 win over Hamburg.

There were a couple of debuts too, as Silvana Marshall-Miranda made her first senior start for Wimbledon Women as they secured a 2-0 victory over Real Bedford in the Women's National League and Freddie Simmonds enjoyed his first senior start in men’s football as he helped Wimbledon to a 1-0 win against Doncsater Rovers.

Despite a draw, it was still a weekend to enjoy for Facundo Buonanotte as he scored his first goal for Elche in a 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao.

Josh Robertson got on for the final ten minutes of Fleetwood Town’s 1-1 draw with Newport County, while Nils Ramming and Charlie Tasker kept a cleansheet for Rochdale as they drew 0-0 with Walsall.

Fuka Tsunoda started in Crystal Palace’s goalless draw with Arsenal, while Olivia Johnson got just over 80 minutes for Lewes in their 1-1 draw with Bournemouth

Grace McEwen was an unused substitute in Nottingham Forest’s 2-2 draw with Watford. Yoon Doyoung (Magdeburg), Kamari Doyle (Leicester City) and Mark O’Mahony (Burton Albion) were not involved in their teams’ matchday squads.
