Melina Loeck saved a spot-kick in the shootout, with her team now set to face Sparta Prague for a place in the final.
In non-league, Michael Dike marked his debut for Burgess Hill Town with a man of the match performance as they beat Wingate and Finchley 3-2 at Leylands Park in the Isthmian League premier division. Carl Rushworth kept his 11th clean sheet of the league season as Coventry defeated West Brom 2-0 to move back to the top of the Championship. A mid-season blip looks as if it's disappearing into the distance with consecutive victories moving the Sky Blues three points clear.
James Beadle made a number of good saves to ensure that Birmingham City secured a 2-1 win at Norwich City, while Ibrahim Osman extended his unbeaten start in the league with the club to five games. The results keeps the Blues within touching distance of the Championship play-offs.
Eiran Cashin teed up the late winner for Blackburn in their 1-0 win over Preston North End, making it three victories in their last four games as they fight to get away from the relegation zone. Malick Yalcouye's Swansea have also had a return of nine points from their last four games, with the midfielder coming on for the last 20 minutes of their 1-0 victory over Bristol City.
It wasn't a full debut to remember for Tom Watson though, who was withdrawn after an hour for Millwall as they were beaten 3-1 at home by Portsmouth.
In the tier below, Kamari Doyle played for 75 minutes of Reading’s 1-1 draw with bottom of the table Port Vale, while Caylan Vickers played the last ten minutes of Wigan’s 4-2 defeat by Stockport County.
The great escape could be on the cards for Harrogate Town who drew 0-0 with League Two leaders Bromley. Jacob Slater won the man of the match award, with the Sulphurites now four games unbeaten and just a point from safety.
On the continent, Brajan Gruda started again as RB Leipzig drew 2-2 with Borussia Dortmund. Diego Coppola made his second consecutive start for Paris FC, helping them to a 1-1 draw with Toulouse, having lost 5-0 on his debut to second in the table Lens on Valentine’s Day.
Finally, Yoon Doyoung suffered the first league defeat of Dordrecht career as they were beaten 1-0 by Ajax Under-21s in the Dutch second tier. The South Korean had been involved in five goals in his previous five games – one goal, four assists.
