Pascal Gross thanked the Albion fans for their ‘incredible’ reception on his return to the Amex.

A day after re-joining the club from Borussia Dortmund the midfielder came on for the last 20 minutes to help Albion beat Burnley 2-0 and move up to eighth in the Premier League table.

Gross said, “It felt really special, the whole day. It’s been a busy 48 hours to get here and then I didn’t sleep very well last night but I was really pleased that I could be involved.

“I wasn’t sure what to expect today to be honest but it was really special. And yes the reaction was incredible, amazing.

“I’m really thankful for that as well, and now I hope I can give them something back to our fans with good performances, that’s all that matters really. I’m looking forward to training with the boys on Monday and building those relationships with the other players.”
