Fabian Hurzeler reflected on a terrific 2-0 win for his side that was also marked by the return of Pascal Gross to the Amex.
Fabian, what are your thoughts on the win?
It was a good game, not a great game. We controlled it, we kept a clean sheet, we created chances, we scored two goals, I think we could have scored more goals, but overall we are pleased.
Georginio opened the scoring and overall had a good game. Were you pleased with his performance?
Georginio Rutter scored the opener in the 2-0 win over the Clarets. đˇ by James Boardman.
The luck won't come to you, you have to work for it and do the small bits right, in the end how he scored was a little bit of luck, but he deserved it because he kept pushing, he was always there, he was present in the opponentsâ box, so I am pleased.
What did you make of Pascal Gross's reception from the Albion fans?
We realised that the fans love him! I was pleased for him because that means he is remembered for some great things in the past, but now we focus on the present.
Yankuba Minteh wasn't involved today, is there any update on his fitness - has he had a setback?
I wouldnât say a setback, I would just say he wasnât 100 per cent fit, unfortunately he wasnât able to play.
You've already signed Pascal Gross, do you envisage anymore movement in the January transfer window?
Pascal Gross made his 262nd Albion appearance against Burnley, and the first since he returned from Borussia Dortmund. đˇ by James Boardman.
The January window in general is very complicated, I always emphasise that thereâs an exchange with Jason (Ayto), Mike (Cave), Tony (Bloom) and Paul (Barber) on decisions. You always have to analyse what you need in your squad, but in the end I am happy with the players we have here. We have a young group and some experienced players, we keep on building on the togetherness.
The victory sees you shoot up to eighth in the table. Does the prospect of European football cross your mind?
It's one win after six without one so we have to stay humble, we have to understand that we have to build our consistency. We shouldnât talk about Europe, we should do the basic things right and then we'll see what happens.
