Ferdi Kadioglu insists that confidence is high as Albion enjoyed a short break before returning to Premier League action at Newcastle on Saturday, the first of the four remaining league fixtures.
“I think the belief is big, but we have to focus on the next match,” he said after the 3-0 victory at home to Chelsea. “You know the Premier League is a really difficult league. No game is easy and if we continue like this with the same spirit, I believe we can reach something nice together.
“We preferred to win at Tottenham, but if you're losing 2-1 and score for a last-minute draw, then we take that point. The three points against Chelsea are very important because we go now above them. Let's wait for the next games and what's happening in the table and focus on Newcastle.”
He enjoyed scoring his first goal of the season in the Chelsea match, but admitted that he is happy whoever scores if Albion win.

“I hit the bar and the post already this season and today it went in the net,” he said. “So, I’m happy for that. At least Diego scored after I hit the bar, so it doesn't matter too much for me. For me it's not important to make the assist of the goal, but if Brighton win then I'm happy.
“I could score two or maybe three goals against Chelsea, but Sanchez made an incredible save. But I'm happy with the win. It doesn't matter who scores goals. If we win, I'm the happiest person on the team.”
His goal came in only the fourth minute of the match and set the tone for a dominant display.
“It was an incredible performance from the team," he said. "Directly from the first minute, we didn't let them breathe. We were very tight on them and every player showed a great performance. Hopefully we continue like this.
Ferdi Kadioglu gave Albion the perfect start, followed by second half goals from Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck, as Albion ran out 3-0 victors in front of a jubliant home support.
“We know that Chelsea have quality players so if you give them time to play, they will do something. We are also on a good flow. We really wanted to win and we showed that from the first minute. We didn't let them have any big chances, I think. That was during the whole game, from the first minute to the last minute. We have to keep doing that in all the games until the end of the season.”
The Turkey defender was also pleased to see that team changes did not upset the team’s rhythm. “Everyone knows what to do if they get into the first eleven,” he said. “We had a difficult period a few weeks ago and we said all together that we have to run for each other and play simple.
“I think we do that much better now and every player understands that. Every player who didn't play the last match [against Tottenham] played an amazing match, so I'm very happy for them as well.”
