Brighton extended their unbeaten home run in the Premier League to ten matches with a 2-1 comeback win over Brentford.
That result also makes it three consecutive Amex victories on the spin, after maximum points against Leeds (3-0) and Newcastle (2-1), and four wins in the last five home league matches.
Since losing to Aston Villa in April, Brighton have won six times and drawn four, with only rivals Crystal Palace (12 matches) currently on a longer streak of home matches without defeat.
This continues the impressive home form the Albion have enjoyed under Fabian Hurzeler, with the 32-year-old Texas-born German quickly turning the Amex into one of the hardest grounds to visit.

In the Hurzeler era (from August 2024 onwards), only Aston Villa and Arsenal (twice) have fewer than Brighton’s three home defeats — which is as many as Liverpool under Arne Slot — while they rank seventh for points won at home (42).
Most importantly, it means Brighton are on their longest unbeaten streak at the Amex since a 12-game run from September 2023 until March 2024, when they drew six and won six.
Already in 2025, they have won more home games (9, from 16 games) and earned more points (32) than at the Amex in 2024 (6 wins from 18 matches and 24pts).
With Aston Villa, Sunderland and West Ham to visit in December, Hurzeler’s side can still try to get close to the remarkable numbers achieved in 2023: 12 wins, six draws and only three defeats in 21 home matches, totalling 42 points that calendar year.

“I think it's really difficult to beat us at our stadium, together with the fans,” Hurzeler said in the Brentford pre-match press conference. “It's our fortress, our castle. I always emphasise it's about us bringing the energy and the intensity on the pitch. From the first second we have to be intense, work hard, to outwork and outrun the opponent.”
They showed that against the Bees, edging the number of duels won (55 to 48) against a team notorious for their physical quality, and making more tackles (22 vs 19) despite having the overwhelming majority of possession — with that 63.9% share the highest since the final day of last season against Tottenham.
Despite only keeping one home clean sheet in 2025/26, Hurzeler’s side have only conceded six times in six matches, and are showcasing their capacity to be aggressive and street-smart.
They have made the most high turnovers at home of any team (33, one more than Bournemouth, who are renowned for this side of the game), the second-most tackles (128), and are one of just five teams to make no errors leading to goals in home matches.

That said, they did need to show their resolve to fight back and win from a losing position against Brentford. This was the ninth time total in the Premier League they have managed that under Hurzeler, the most in the division, with seven of those comeback wins taking place at the Amex, including a 2-1 win over Manchester City in the current unbeaten run.
Another continuing trend was Hurzeler turning the game around with substitutes. Jack Hinshelwood, on as a 70th minute change for Diego Gomez, scored the match-winner.
His diagonal picked out Yankuba Minteh in the build-up, a tactic of Brighton’s all afternoon, and was well-placed to volley into the bottom-right corner when The Gambia international had his shot blocked.
That made it the seventh time this season that a Brighton substitute had scored, with 11 goal involvements total (including four assists), which are both league highs — last term, only Marco Silva at Fulham (15) was more impactful with substitute goals (15 for Hurzeler).
In many senses then it made for an appropriate way to mark a half-century of Premier League games in charge for the head coach, breaking the record of Chris Coleman in 2004 for the youngest to that milestone. He boasts an impressive record of 21 wins, 17 draws and only 12 defeats, giving him the best points-per-game (1.6) of any Brighton head coach since promotion in 2017.
