Albion’s under-18s returned to action after the international break by beating Ipswich Town 3-0 in the Premier League Cup.
Fin Dzekawong put the home side in front midway through the first half and Albion added further goals in the second period through Chris Condy and substitute Jacob Parsons.
Coach Carl Martin said, “It was a really pleasing performance, particularly coming off the back of an international break.
“We started with excellent intensity and built on the positive performance against Aston Villa [a 4-2 win three weeks ago], which was important given the consistency gap we’ve shown at times this season.”

We used the conditions well in the first half, scoring an excellent individual goal through Fin.
“Defensively, I was particularly pleased with our pressing and our ability to defend deeper when we couldn’t apply pressure, which limited their access to our box.
We started the second half quickly, adding a second goal following some good wide play and movement in the box. The substitutes also made a positive impact, with our third goal coming from a counterattack finished off by Jacob.
“I was really pleased with the clean sheet, our defensive discipline and, most importantly, backing up one good performance with another.”
The under-18s return to Premier League action at home to Southampton next Saturday.
