Fabian Hurzeler believes Albion are in 'a good place' two weeks from the start of the new Premier League season.
The head coach gave his assessment after two goals from Yankuba Minteh in a 2-2 draw at Southampton in Saturdy's pre-season friendly at St Mary's.
He said, "I'm happy. I think we showed itoday that we are in a good place and now it's about improving the details and getting physically ready for the Premier League.
"We controlled the game for 70-75 minutes so it was disappointing not to win the game but I saw a lot of good things."
Minteh scored two identical goals with precise finishes across the keeper and inside the far post and Hurzeler believes his winger can kick on this season.
"He had a positive impact today. You can always improve the small details and the decision making in the final four but he's still a young player who played in his first Premier League season last season.
Of course, we want to develop as a team. That means also we need to make the next step as individuals, and that's our expectations of him and I think he also has these expectations of himself."
