Dario Vidosic was delighted with his side's rearguard action as Albion picked up a hard-fought three points at in-form London City Lionesses.
A solitary Kiko Seike goal separated the sides, but it was the visitors' impressive defensive display that really caught the eye in the 1-0 win.
“When we were called upon defensively I thought we looked really solid against a very good team,” he said. “With the calibre of players they have and can bring off the bench, we stood up to the challenge.
“It was a tough game and I don't think the conditions helped. The times we did manage to control it we looked quite good and the start was particularly good. We got an early goal, had a penalty we couldn't put away and overall we defended well. We looked very solid in the second half against a front line that is very dangerous.”

Aside from the back four, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie made a number of impressive saves that impressed the head coach – likewise the performance at the other end of the pitch of goalscorer Seike. “Chi came in late but when she's called upon she makes big saves. She is still learning a lot and we expect her to get better and better as the season goes on.
“Kiko, too, has been terrific and is now scoring the goals that we want her to add to her game. She is getting herself into terrific positions and today she got herself onto the scoresheet to help us to the three points.”
The win takes Albion to within a point of the Lionesses but Vidosic refuses to look at the table at this stage of the season.
“I don't really look at the table,” he added. “It only means something at the end of the season. We know in this league that the margins are so thin that very quickly you can go down as well as up the table. All we are focused on now is next week's game against Chelsea.”
