Head coach says he will rotate his squad in Carabao Cup second round.

Graham Potter has said he will rotate his squad at Cardiff City on Tuesday night.

Graham Potter is looking forward to seeing his younger players get their opportunity at Cardiff City tonight in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Because of the quick turnaround in Premier League fixtures, the head coach will utilise his squad against the Championship side.

He said, “I am really excited to see some of our younger players in action. The game itself is going to be really tough, but that’s what you want so you can see where they’re at. It’ll be different in many ways to what they’re used to so it’s how they adapt.

“This game is an opportunity for those young players to take another step in their career by experiencing a tough game against Championship opposition, which is something a few of them won’t have done before.

“There are a lot of young players in the club that have good futures and it’s up to us to select the right ones at the right time to give them a chance and at the same time develop the team and improve the club.”

Cardiff aren’t to be underestimated, according to Potter.

“Because they play in the Championship they have got a big squad but whoever plays they will be organised, will play to their strengths and be competitive and resilient.

“They will be everything you would expect from a Mick McCarthy team and they will want to win. It’s going to be a really good test.”
