Graham Potter was left to reflect on a missed opportunity as Albion slipped to a 1-0 Premier League defeat to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
David McGoldrick's first-half goal for already relegated Blades was the difference with Jakub Moder having an equaliser ruled out by VAR in the second half while Albion missed other chances to score.
Potter said, "Every game you lose the feeling is disappointing and it’s a missed opportunity for us.
"I didn't think we were as good as we’ve been recently. We gave a poor goal away from our perspective and it became difficult because Sheffield United defended well.
"We pushed but lacked a bit of quality if we’re honest. We had a few opportunities but if we are critical of ourselves we perhaps didn’t make their keeper make enough saves."
Jose Izquierdo made his Premier League return after two years out with knee injuries in the second half but Albion couldn't make their pressure count.
"In the Premier League everyone is fighting for something, even Sheffield United who have their pride to play for.
"We know we can be better so we have to regroup, go again and prepare for Saturday's game against Leeds United."
