The defender, who is with the Rams for the season, was one of a number of Albion loan faces who were in action across the weekend. Goals from Martyn Waghorn, Chris Martin, Wayne Rooney and Jayden Bogle sealed a convincing win at Pride Park.
In the same division, Christian Walton and Blackburn Rovers played out a1-1 draw away to Middlesbrough. The stalemate means it is now four unbeaten for Tony Mowbray’s men, and Walton pulled off a stunning second-half save to deny Rudy Gestede and earn the visitors a point on Teesside.
Jayson Molumby was a 79th minute substitute in Millwall’s 0-0 draw away to Sheffield Wednesday as Gary Rowett’s men earned themselves a point at Hillsborough, while Ben White and Leeds United suffered a 0-1 home defeat to Wigan Athletic at Elland Road.
It was a vital win for the Latics who will soon be able to welcome Albion pair Leon Balogun and Jan Mlakar into the fold after the duo arrived at the DW Stadium on deadline day.
In League One, Robert Sanchez kept a clean sheet as Rochdale picked up a late 1-0 home win over Shrewsbury Town. Tyler Smith’s 88th-minute goal lifted the Lancashire side out of the relegation zone and up to 18th in the table.
Further afield, George Cox played the full 90 minutes in Fortuna Sittard’s 2-1 win over Heerenveen. The result moves his side onto 23 points and up into 13th position in the Dutch Eredivisie.
In Germany, Leo Ostigard and Viktor Gyokeres both played 90 minutes in FC St Pauli’s 1-1 draw at home to VFB Stuttgart in the German second tier. Mario Gomez notched a late equaliser to deny the Hamburg-based outfit what would have been an impressive win against their second-placed opponents.
Elsewhere in Europe, Bojan Radulovic played 90 minutes for Deportivo Alaves B in their 2-0 win over CD Guijuelo after the Serbian striker joined the Spanish third division outfit on loan for the rest of the season on Friday.
In non-league, Carl Rushworth and Worthing were 2-1 winners over Carshalton Athletic. A last gasp-penalty secured a sixth straight victory for Adam Hinshelwood’s men, who are unbeaten in the league for four months and are top of the Bet Victor Isthmian Premier Division.
