Chiesa slightly harshly goes into the book for lightly pulling at the shirt of Kadioglu as he runs down the pitch. Not sure that warrants a booking.

Gross' corner falls for Ayari to hit in the middle of the box, but it hits a Liverpool player, maybe even the keeper saves it (sorry, saw it through a crowd of bodies) on the line and the visitors get it away!

Another double change for Albion as Georginio and Yasin Ayari replace Danny Welbeck and Jack Hinshelwood. A terrific shift from those two.

Szoboszlai goes into the book for tripping Mitoma on the halfway line.

Oh dear, Jack will be gutted with that. Kaoru Mitoma gets past Jones like he doesn't exist. The Japan international finds Hinshelwood in the middle, but he fluffs his first time strike. Liverpool counter and a good challenge from Jan Paul van Hecke denies Chiesa's shot from hitting the target.

Yankuba Minteh and James Milner are replaced by Kaoru Mitoma and Carlos Baleba.

An Albion corner falls for Milner to hit on the volley. He catches it well and it's goal bound, but it's straight at Welbeck who essentially blocks the shot, and his follow up is deflected away!

Alexis Mac Allister is booked for pulling the shirt and tripping Jan Paul van Hecke.

Minteh runs into the Liverpool box but can't quite get the ball out of his feet as he shoots, but Mamardashvili does well to deny the winger!

Jones cuts it into his left in the Albion box and looks to curl it into the bottom left corner, but Verbruggen gets down well to get a glove on it and send it behind for a corner.

From the resulting free-kick (see previous post), Diego Gomez shoots, going goalside, but it's tipped away by Mamardashvili! Terrific save.

Frimpong drags down Minteh from behind. Free-kick to Albion 20 yards from the Liverpool goal. Halfway between the edge and the centre of the box.

Pascal Gross swings a cross in from the left which Mats Wieffer meets, but he sends it wide of the bottom right corner from six yards. Great opportunity.

Kadioglu is found by Minteh - who does terrific work to get the ball in the first place. The Turkey international weighs up his options before going it alone down the middle, having a pop from 20 yards and forcing a decent save from Mamardashvili.

Danny Welbeck goes into the book for Szoboszlai booting a free-kick into him from close range. Not entirely sure the striker deserves a booking for that.

Back underway. No changes for either team.

An entertaining first 45 minutes.

Diego Gomez lands his boot directly on top of Alexis Mac Allister's just to the left of the Albion technical area. It's a booking for the Paraguay international.

Minteh gets into the box, crosses in, it just evades Welbeck and Gomez in the middle who would have no doubt poked home!

Konate trips Welbeck on the halfway line as Albion attack, and the referee stops play to book the Liverpool defender. It's obvious to everyone in the stadium that play could continue, but the referee stops the game, much to the frustration of Fabian Hurzeler.

Equaliser for Liverpool and it's cheap from Albion. A ball is punted down field with a load of Liverpool players offside. Dunk flicks it off the back of his head to get it back to Verbruggen, but an onside Kerkez steals in and lifts it over Bart with a smart finish, to make it 1-1.

Yankuba Minteh dives in on Cody Gakpo, getting none of the ball and all of the man. Booking.

Diego Gomez clumsily trips Cody Gakpo 25 yards from the Albion goal, free-kick to the Reds. Szoboszlai lines it up, but sends it well over the top left corner.

Good save from Verbruggen. Alexis meets Szoboszlai's cross, sending the ball towards the bottom right corner, but Verbruggen gets down well to tip away for a corner.

Albion have the wind in their sails. Kadioglu finds the Paraguayan with a cross from the left, but Diego has to stretch to get his head on it and can only guide it well over the Liverpool goal.

Liverpool immediately attack and it's only a brilliant challenge by Mats Wieffer, sticking his foot in front of Cody Gakpo's shot from inside the box, that stops a potential equaliser.

Albion can't afford to give the Hungarian that sort of space on the edge of the box, as he lets fly from 18 yards, but he smashes it to the back of the North Stand. Given his form in front of goal this season, that's a let off.

Hugo Ekitike is replaced by Curtis Jones. The striker is jeered by the Albion fans after seemingly being unable to continue, but got back onto the pitch to give Jones time to prepare to come on.

There's a pause in play after Hugo Ekitike bangs the back of his thigh against James Milner's hip. It might be a dead leg. Either way, the physio is waved on. The striker eventually gets back to his feet and is really hobbling, he might have to be substituted.

Liverpool get the game underway, with Szoszlai booting the ball out of play deep into Albion territory.

After a delay to proceedings, we're about to get underway. A familiar face in the away team, as we've become accustomed to seeing, with Alexis Mac Allister lining up against us today.

Fabian Hurzeler confirmed in his press conference on Friday that Kaoru Mitoma is fit to play against Liverpool after missing last week's 1-0 win against Sunderland. Adam Webster and Stef Tzimas are side-lined for the long term. Mo Salah is set to miss the game for the Reds, while Joe Gomez's fitness will be assessed. Alisson Becker announced on Instagram yesterday that he will not be available due to injury. Definitely ruled out are Stefan Bajcetic, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo, Alexander Isak and Giovanni Leoni.
