Beto is first to a loose ball in the Albion box and fires in.

James Milner replaces Pascal Gross.

Substitute Nathan Patterson puts a decent cross into the box which Michael Keane volleys, but it flies into the hands of Verbruggen.

Albion have it in the back of the net as Mitoma fires in from Dunk's header down, but the flag goes up for offside in the build up against Joel Veltman. It's the correct decision.

Fabian Hurzeler makes two changes. Maxim De Cuyper and Danny Welbeck are replaced by Joel Veltman and Babis Kostoulas.

Barry gets in down the left of the box and pulls it across for Dewsbury-Hall. He looks absolutely certain to put the visitors in front as he hits it first time, but Verbruggen gets down quickly and gets his leg in the way. It should be 1-0 to Everton. Babis Kostoulas is ready to come on.

Georginio is replaced by Yankuba Minteh.

Branthwaite dives in on Ayari, which sends the Sweden international flying. He lands heavily on his shoulder and looks in a lot of pain. The physios are waved on.

Pascal Gross lunges in on O'Brien just outside the Albion box. It's a poor challenge, and the German is booked.

Everton break through the Albion midfield and Dewsbury-Hall gets a really good effort away from the left of the box, sending it a yard wide of the bottom right corner. That's the visitors' first chance of the afternoon and it's a decent one.

Verbruggen plays a ball down-field that looks as if it's got the beating of everyone, with Gross sprinting through the Everton defence. The German appears to get a touch to bring it down, but Garner races across to intercept and eventually win a throw for his team. If Pascal had brought that down then, he'd have been one-on-one with Pickford.

Everton get us back underway.

Goalless after 45 minutes.

That's a lovely ball from the left from De Cuyper, and it looks bound for the head of Welbeck at the back post. Branthwaite senses the danger though and races in to head it behind for a corner.

That's the first moment of nerves for Albion as the ball is played down the right of our box for Gueye to cross int the middle, but it's cleared away. It would be typical to have a number of decent chances, only to concede to Everton's first of the afternoon.

Albion are caught short at the back with Ndiaye running with the ball at Kadioglu and Barry battling in the middle with Dunk. Ndiaye tries to dart past Kadioglu, but the Turkey international blocks him off before the Everton man unintentionally puts it behind for a goal-kick.

Mitoma plays a one-two with Welbeck and lifts the ball over the onrushing Pickford, it looks for all the world like it's heading in, but it's just wide! Terrific play.

De Cuyper's corner finds the head of Welbeck in the middle and he glances it wide of the bottom left corner. He knows that's a great chance to hit the target. Either way, Albion have started this really well.

Kadioglu's cross appears to have missed everyone in the box, but not Georginio. The Frenchman strikes it on the volley, he catches it cleanly, but it's well wide of the bottom left corner. Good chance.

It will come as little surprise that Albion have had 80% of the ball in the opening ten minutes. Everton have looked like they can be opened up. Hopefully Albion can take advantage.

That's a great early chance for Albion. Ayari plays the ball out to the right for Kadioglu and he crosses in first time. It's flicked on by Welbeck, with Gross first to the ball and he directs it towards goal, but it's blocked by Tarkowski and is behind for a corner! The corner is sent in by De Cuyper, Welbeck backheels it, Pickford gathers and is then knocked over by van Hecke. There's a bit of a coming together, but it's all water under the bridge and we play on.

After a period of applause in memory of Rado Vidosic, Albion get the game underway.

Fabian Hurzeler has made two changes to the team that was beaten 2-1 at Fulham last weekend. Maxim De Cuyper and Georginio come into the team, replacing Olivier Boscagli and Diego Gomez.
