90'+7'

FULL TIME

That's it at Selhurst Park, as the spoils are shared.
90'

SEVEN MINUTES ADDED TIME

Nobody is quite sure where that has come from.
85'

Substitution

Another double change for the visitors as Maxim De Cuyper and Stef Tzimas replace Danny Welbeck and Diego Gomez.
75'
RoundArrow

Substitution

Double Albion change as Georginio and Carlos Baleba are replaced by Babis Kostoulas and Joel Veltman. Joel goes in at right back and Mats Wieffer moves into midfield.
72'

KAMADA FIRES WRONG SIDE OF THE POST

Well, it's the right side of the post from an Albion perspective. The Japanese midfielder gets in down the left of the box and tries to beat Verbruggen at his near post, but sends it into the side netting. van Hecke put him under pressure, and it proved vital.

Yellow Card

Georginio is booked for simulation.
64'

VAR

Tim Robinson initially gives a penalty to Albion as Canvot appears to trip Georginio in the box, but it looks as if the Frenchman has taken a tumble and VAR ask the referee to go to the screen. He overrules his decision. No penalty.

Yellow Card

Carlos Baleba trips Mitchell on the Palace left and goes into the book, for the first yellow card of the afternoon.
55'

PALACE SHOULD SCORE

Well that is a sensationally large let off for Albion. Baleba loses out to Wharton and the hosts are in with Mateta and Sarr. The latter can't get his feet sorted in the box and has to cross the ball instead of shoot, van Hecke gets a touch to take it away from Mateta and Kamada smashes it wide from ten yards!
46'

GOMEZ HEADS AT GOAL...

Palace take the kick-off but it's Albion who go on the attack down the right with Wieffer and Minteh combine before the latter crosses to the back stick for Gomez to meet. The Paraguayan is stretching but still gets a great contact on the ball to send it goalwards, which Henderson initially keeps out and is first to the loose ball with Welbeck ready to steal in!

Half-Time

Nothing to separate the teams at the break.
45'+1'

HUGE CHANCE MISSED

Gomez takes the ball off Wharton with Palace light at the back and Albion are in. The Paraguayan has runners to pick from and opts for Minteh. The winger hits it first time but gets it all wrong and essentially passes it into the side netting. He pulls his shirt over his head. That is hugely frustrating.
40'

WHARTON PUTS IT WIDE

It's not the best contact in the end for the former Blackburn midfielder as his half volley from the edge of the Albion area drifts well wide to the right of goal.
36'

MINTEH'S SHOT BLOCKED

The game has lost its sting a little after an entertaining start. Minteh cuts in from the right and sees his strike deflect off the leg of Canvot and behind for a corner.
29'

HANDBALL SHOUT FOR PALACE

It's never going to be given to be honest, as a clearance in the Albion box is fired into the midriff of Jan Paul van Hecke inside his own six-yard box, before the visitors get it away. Palace briefly appeal for a handball against the Dutchman, but you're never going to get that decision in that situation.
13'

VAN HECKE'S LONG RANGER EASY FOR HENDERSON

Albion show patience in their build up as Palace sit increasingly deeper, but with no opening appearing, van Hecke has a pop from distance but it's easily gathered by Henderson.
10'

INCREDIBLE SAVE FROM VERBRUGGEN

That is an absolutely outstanding save from Bart. Sarr cuts it onto his right and curls it towards the top right corner, but Verbruggen dives to his left and at full stretch tips it around the post!
6'

CLOSE TO AN OWN GOAL BEFORE GOMEZ DENIED!

Brilliant opportunities for Albion there. They break quickly down the right before Wieffer's cross is deflected just wide of the post by Lacroix. Kadioglu's corner is cleared but recycled by Minteh. It falls for Gomez who gets his laces behind a drive from 12 yards, but it's straight at Henderson who saves!
4'

MATETA SMASHES OVER

The first shot of the game is a half chance for Mateta, who breaks down the right of the box and leathers a strike from a tight angle over the crossbar.
1'

UNDERWAY AT SELHURST

After an excellent playing of the Last Post, which was perfectly observed by both sets of fans, Albion get the game underway. Immediately there's chants from the home fans of 'have you ever seen Brighton win a cup?'

NO CHANGES FOR ALBION, THREE FOR PALACE

Albion go unchanged for the first time this season, with Fabian Hurzeler naming the same starting XI from last weekend's win over Leeds. Palace have made three changes from Thursday night's Europa League win over AZ Alkmaar. Captain Mark Guehi is out with a knock, while Will Hughes and Yéremy Pino drop to the bench. In their place come in Jaydee Canvot, Daichi Kamada and Adam Wharton.

STATS AND FACTS

Both teams have scored in all eight Premier League meetings between Crystal Palace and Brighton at Selhurst Park – only Wolves at home to Newcastle (10) has been played more without either side keeping a clean sheet in the competition. Crystal Palace have 16 points in 10 Premier League matches this season (W4 D4 L2), an improvement of nine points on last season’s tally at this stage (7). It’s their most at this stage of a top-flight campaign since 1991-92 (17). After a 13-game winless Premier League run away from home against London teams between December 2023 and April 2025, Albion have won their last two in the capital. Only once before have they won three in a row in the competition, doing so between April and August 2022. Crystal Palace haven’t lost any of their last 11 Premier League matches at Selhurst Park (W6 D5), the longest ongoing home unbeaten run in the division. Only between February and December 1990 have they had a longer run without losing at home in the top-flight (17 games). Brighton limited Leeds to an xG of just 0.5 on MD10, their lowest xG faced in a Premier League game since February against Southampton (0.11), winning 3-0 against the Whites. The Seagulls haven’t kept two clean sheets in a row since February. Nine of Jean-Philippe Mateta’s last 10 Premier League goals have been scored in London, with the Frenchman netting four in his last two at Selhurst Park. He has six goals in 10 games this season, with only Andrew Johnson in 2004-05 (7) ever scoring more in Crystal Palace’s opening 10 matches of a Premier League season. In the last two seasons, the only Englishman to outscore Danny Welbeck (16) in the Premier League is Ollie Watkins (17). The Brighton forward has netted six goals in his last five appearances – only Erling Haaland has more (7) in this timeframe (27 September onwards).
