Another big chance for Xavi Simons goes begging as he's found in the middle by Kudus, but he drags it wide. Albion cannot afford to keep giving away brilliant chances like that.

Georginio crosses it back towards the edge of the box from the by-line and Ayari meets it, but he sends his first time effort wide to the right of goal.

Gruda is fouled by Porro in front of the Tottenham technical area. Lewis Dunk takes, spotting Vicario well off his line, and looks to lob the keeper. The ball lands on the roof of the net with the Tottenham stopper sprinting back towards his own goal.

Bergvall looks to get onto the end of a cross from the left, but Dunk is there first to smash it away. Love it.

Richarlison fires in from close range after Tottenham win the ball back courtesy of a handball. Albion staff and players complain, but in the end the referee gives the goal after VAR have a look. It's probably a case of the action happening too long before the goal is scored, but without it the goal doesn't happen. A contentious one.

Udogie has been the one that Albion need to look out for. He gives Baleba the run around on the left before getting to the by-line and crossing low, but it's cut out by van Hecke.

Yasin Ayari gets the ball onto his right foot and thumps it straight at Vicario, but the power means the Spurs keeper has to awkwardly punch it away. Albion win back possession before Brajan Gruda blazes wide.

A long ball over the top is brought down by Richarlison. The Brazilian gets past van Hecke but in doing so makes the angle for a shot very tight, before driving the ball into the side netting. The striker is frustrated with himself for not doing better with that.

Baleba charges forward with the ball before sliding it through the Tottenham defence for Georginio to run onto. Vicario is out of his box quickly to clear though and the attack ends. Minteh's goal has given Albion confidence, and it appears to have dented Spurs, who were so confident going forward before we took the lead.

Udogie gets down the left of the box - Ayari dives in but pulls away in a desperate attempt not to trip the Spurs player - before looking for Bergvall in the middle, but van Hecke gets there first.

Baleba is forced to put a cross into the Albion box behind for a corner. Spurs looking to start this one quickly.

Brighton completed a Premier League double over Tottenham Hotspur last season – the only time they have ever won back-to-back league meetings with Spurs. Tottenham have lost away to Brighton in both of the last two league seasons but have never before lost three successive visits. Albion have lost just one of their last 10 home Premier League matches (W6 D3), and are unbeaten in six at the Amex (W3 D3) since a 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa in April. Tottenham have won both their away league games so far this season by an aggregate score of 5-0; not since November 2020 under José Mourinho have they won three consecutive Premier League matches on the road (run of four). Albion have the lowest points per defensive action in the Premier League this season (9.5), as well as recording the most shots following high turnovers, attempting eight from their 31 so far. Only two sides have attempted more crosses in the Premier League this season than Tottenham (89), with their three goals from crosses the most of any side in 2025-26. Only Chelsea (14) and Manchester City (12) have created more big chances in the Premier League this season than Albion (10), with the Seagulls scoring four of those opportunities; the eighth-best conversion rate. Spurs boss Thomas Frank lost his first two Premier League meetings with Brighton in the 2021-22 season, but he’s only lost one of his last six against the Seagulls (W2 D3), all while manager of Brentford. Brighton’s Yankuba Minteh has the highest take-on success rate among players with 10+ attempted in the Premier League this season (65% - 13/20), while only Oscar Bobb (10) has recorded more take-ons in the opposition’s box than Minteh’s six.

Speaking in his press conference on Friday morning, Fabian Hurzeler confirmed that he will be without Jack Hinshelwood for the foreseeable future. "Unfortunately we had two injuries in the game against Bournemouth. Jack will be out for a longer time. "With Maxim, luckily it's not that bad so we have to see. He might be available for the game, it's not a big injury, it was just a hit and hopefully he will be back soon. "Mats Wieffer is back and is an option, he is available. "It's not perfect with Jack, but overall we are still in a good place. "Jack has a ligament injury in his ankle. It happened in a very unlucky way, but that's football. We have to accept it."
