Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Albion 2-1 in Premier League 2 on Friday afternoon.

Louis Flower put Albion ahead shortly before the break but second half goals from Danny Imray and Franco Umeh secured the Eagles victory at their training ground.

The first meaningful attack of the game after 27 minutes saw Albion score a wonderful goal. Jacob Slater’s expertly floated cross was met by Flower on the far edge of the six-yard box and he looped a header in off the crossbar.

Jamie Mullins should have added to our lead three minutes later when a loose Palace pass on the edge of the box was pinched by the Irishman, but his low effort from 18-yards was gathered by Joe Whitworth.

Palace defender Joe Sheridan had his head in his hands having not equalised just before the break. The centre-back met Imray’s cross from the right, but from just a couple of yards out nodded wide.

The hosts would find an equaliser just before the hour mark though as Imray cut in from the right and curled smartly into the bottom left corner.

Albion were again guilty of not finishing off a good opportunity when Leigh Kavanagh's pass into the box was swiped at and missed by Mullins before Barrington skied it from six-yards out.

Killian Cahill would save the visitors down the other end as Umeh cut in and drilled low at goal, with the Irish 'keeper tipping away from goal and fortunately just beyond Jadan Raymond who was ready to stab home from close range.

But it would be Palace who would take the lead when Umeh headed in from a Justin Devenny corner with eight minutes of normal time to play.

The defeat brought an end to an impressive three-game winning run since our under-21s returned from their winter break.

They return to action on Wednesday for their Bristol Street Motors Trophy quarter-final at Wycombe Wanderers.
