Mark O'Mahony has had an excellent start to the season.

Mark O’Mahony’s fine start to the campaign has seen him nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month.

The 18-year-old was involved in six goals – four goals and two assists – in three matches in August, notably scoring twice against Everton in our 4-0 win over the Toffees.

The Republic of Ireland under-19 international has been in excellent form for the under-21s since his arrival from Cork City in January. In his 14 PL2 appearances for Shannon Ruth’s team, Mark has scored nine goals and been credited with three assists in 883 minutes of football – meaning he averages a goal involvement every 74 minutes.

The winner of the award is decided by the Premier League Football Development Panel and will be announced in due course.
