Gross and Terland the main winners at our Player Awards

More than 400 guests attended Tuesday's event at the Amex.

Pascal Gross won the Players' Player and Player of the Season awards.

Pascal Gross was a popular double winner at the Players' Awards, sponsored by American Express, at the Amex on Tuesday.

The German midfielder was names both men’s Players’ Player of the Year and Player of the Year after another outstanding season in which he has made 46 appearances so far and contributed four goals and ten assists in the Premier League.

The 32-year-old has contributed 40 goals and 35 assists across his 225 Premier League games since joining the club in 2017. His outstanding club form saw him earn his first Germany call-up earlier this season.

Pascal said, “When you work every day and people appreciate what you do it means a lot. I'm really proud because this club means a lot to me. 

"I love playing at the Amex and away because we always have fantastic support. To see our section full in all our away games in Europe was very special."

Women's Player of the Season Elisabeth Terland.

The women’s Player of the Season was top scorer Elisabeth Terland, who has netted 15 goals this season including 13 in the WSL. The Norwegian international joined Albion at the start of last season and has scored 23 times in 48 appearances.

Elisabeth said, “I've enjoyed every moment of this season. I feel I have developed as a player and a person and that is because of the people around me - my teammates, the coaches and staff and the fans, who have supported the team all season."

Sophie Baggaley won the women's Players' Player of the Season

The women’s Players’ Player of the Season was goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley, who has been in outstanding form since joining the club from Manchester United last summer.

Men's Young Player of the Season Jack Hinshelwood.

The men’s Young Player of the Season went to Jack Hinshelwood, who broke into the first team earlier this season and scored three goals in 12 Premier League appearances before his campaign was cut short by an ankle injury.

Our women's Young Player of the Season Maisie Symonds

The women’s award was won by midfielder Maisie Symonds, who broke into the team on a regular basis and was also called up into England’s under-23 squad.

Kaoru Mitoma’s sensational solo effort against Wolves won the men’s Goal of the Season award while the women’s accolade was won by Vea Sarri for her spectacular finish against Aston Villa in the League Cup.

A popular win of the James Brynin Fan of the Season award was Levi McQueen. Levi, 25, cares for his mum Glenda, who was working for Sussex Police when she suffered a severe brain injury on duty in 2002.

In 2017 Levi's best friend Ashleigh took his own life but when Glenda asked him if he'd like to come and watch Albion it transformed his life. "When he walked up the slope to the Amex for the first time it was like someone had switched on a light," said Glenda. Now they go home and away together. "I love it," said Levi. "The journey we've been on together has been incredible."

James Brynin’s dad Efrem, who set up the Strongman charity after his son - an Albion fan - died on active service in Afghanistan, won the Sarah Watts Inspiration award.

Charlie Hewson, 13, won the Community Foundation award. Charlie, who had to have an amputation aged 13 months after suffering from cancer, is part of Albion's amputee team and was recently scored six goals on his first England appearance.
