Women’s interim head coach Mikey Harris is the latest guest on the Official Brighton & Hove Albion podcast.

Mikey, who was appointed to his current role in February, has been steeped in the game since a young age when he hung around the changing rooms at Portsmouth, where his father worked, with players like future England star Darren Anderton.

He tells host Glenn Murray that he has been coaching since he was in his 20s after realising he wouldn’t quite make the grade as a professional player, having been on the books at Fratton Park and Bournemouth.

He was thrust into first-team management at the age of just 28 with National League club Salisbury City, and Mikey talks about some of his experiences in the dugout including a hilarious exchange with former Albion striker Dean Saunders.

Glenn also talks to Mikey about his coaching experiences in the academy at Southampton and with England under-18s, and his relationship with England manager Gareth Southgate and his assistant Steve Holland. Mikey also discusses his passion for his new role helping our women’s team climb the WSL table.
