Jamie Mullins gave Albion an early lead.

Our men’s under-21s came from 3-1 down to draw level with Stoke City before succumbing to a last-minute goal and a 4-3 defeat in Monday’s PL2 game at Stoke’s Clayton Wood training ground.

Jamie Mullins fired Albion into an 11th-minute lead with his fourth goal of the season before Stoke hit back. Caylan Vickers, our January signing from Reading, provided the assist with a low ball which Mullins converted.

Nikola Jogic made it 1-1 when he latched onto Liam McCarron's through ball to fire past Owen Fisher midway through the first half.

Andre Vidigal put Stoke ahead on 55 minutes when he finished off a move down the left and Souleymane Sidibe made it 3-1 when he converted Vidigal's low cross at the far post.

But Albion responded with Josh Duffus pulling it back to 3-2 with a neat finish beyond Stoke keeper Alfie Brooks before fellow substitute Louis Flower equalised with eight minutes to go with his fifth of the campaign. Duffus had the assist this time, with Flower tapping home from close range.

Josh Duffus came off the bench to get Albion back into the game.

There was one last twist, however, when Rakealan Jeffers struck a last-minute winner with a low effort from the right-hand edge of the box for the home side after Tyrese Campbell's neat turn set up the chance.

Albion stay seventh in the table after their fifth league defeat of the season.

Albion: Fisher, Offiah, Slater, Atom (sub: Kavanagh 74); Robertson (Doyle 57), Chouchane, Smith (Duffus 57), Barrington (Flower 74), Vickers; O'Mahony, Mullins. Unused sub: Cahill.
