Albion's men's first-team head coach, Roberto De Zerbi.

Roberto De Zerbi has called on his players to show courage and bravery as he looks forward to his first game as head coach when we take on Liverpool today.

“Courage is a word that I use a lot. Courage and enjoyment.

“We know we have good players and we are doing well, but being brave, having courage and enjoying yourself playing football, especially against top teams, is crucial.”

Despite the difficulty a trip to Anfield presents, the Italian says he sees an opening game against a top team as a 'gift' as Albion look to improve on a fine start to the campaign.

De Zerbi's Liverpool press conference

“I feel like destiny gave me a gift. Then of course when you play football you can win, you lose and you can draw. So, the most important thing is to make sure you don’t have any regrets in terms of you have done.

“On the last day of training before the game we tried to give all the instructions and we will do the same before the game. Then we go to play on the pitch.

“I’ve never been to Anfield but everyone all over the world knows what the atmosphere is like there. That’s why I take it as a gift to go there in my first game."
