Yves Bissouma was delighted to score his first Premier League goal with an outstanding strike against Burnley.
The former Lille midfielder opened the scoring at Turf Moor after bending in a fantastic effort from 25-yards, having only found the back of the net previously for the Seagulls in the Emirates FA Cup against Bournemouth.
It was the perfect way to mark his half-century of appearances in the top-flight in an Albion shirt, having joined the club in 2018.
He said, “I am really happy to score my first Premier League goal for my team, this moment is very important for me.
“Because I have a good shot, when I got the ball I thought this is a good opportunity for me – I shot, I scored.”

Having been one of the stand-out performers for Graham Potter’s side during the post-lockdown period, Bissouma said that his support and hard work on the training pitch has paid dividends.
“The boss has told me I am a really good player, but that I can work hard everyday. That will help me to improve and get to the top of my game,” he added.
“We were always training hard and my teammates helped me, so did the boss. I am pleased and I will train hard to keep going.”
Looking forward, the 23-year-old wants to see Albion find another gear next season in the Premier League.
“We need to progress and that’s what we’re aiming to do,” said Bissouma.
