Graham Potter hailed a ‘miracle’ strike by Yves Bissouma after Albion ended the season in style with a 2-1 win against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Bissouma and Aaron Connolly netted either side of half-time to secure a 15th-place finish and a new Premier League points record of 41 for the Seagulls.
He said, “It was a really satisfying performance and result and an important three points for us to finish the season.
“I said to Yves in the dressing room ‘it’s a miracle we have witnessed!’ He’s got quality and we are so pleased with him. He has been working hard and has got the ability to score from there.
“We wanted to end it strongly and three points here have come against a team that aren’t easy to take points off.
“I am delighted for the players. It’s the reward for the work they have done and it’s nice to finish ahead of the break with a win.
“The only chance they had in the first half was the one they scored from. Alexis [Mac Allister] could have scored and Neal Maupay hit the bar, but I was quite happy with how we played in the first 45 minutes.
“I am delighted with the three points because they are hard to come by in the Premier League. Credit to the players – they were fantastic from the start and overall I felt we deserved the win.”
