Shameema Yousuf is a Certified Mental Performance Consultant ® of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and sits on the Diversity and International Relations Committees.
She is a Registered Counsellor of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, a Division 47 Member of American Psychological Society and Graduate Member of British Psychological Society – Division of Sport and Exercise Psychology.
Shameema was an elite athlete for Zimbabwe. Her extensive work in sport psychology has included NCAA, school teams, academies, individual youth competitors, youth sport programs and Olympic and professional/elite athletes.
She has been instrumental in impacting the lives of ‘at risk’ youths, with a psych-social life skills curriculum program she structured and delivered; now adopted and rebranded by the US Tennis Association under the Serve and Connect banner. In addition to her work in sport, she has supported dramatic artists, traders and executives in their performance mindsets.
Shameema has consulted with athletes internationally and has published work in a peer review journal, UK Higher Education sport publication, sport magazine publications and is chapter co-author in a FIT book. She is a regular conference speaker and presenter, and has held sport media interviews with Sky Sports News and The Wimbledon Channel.
