Alexis Mac Allister

Alexis Mac Allister joined Albion from Argentinos Juniors in January 2019 on a four-and-a-half year contract, before returning to the Buenos Aires club on loan.

He was then called-up by the Argentina national team for the first time in August 2019 and made his international debut as a second-half substitute in the 0-0 draw against Chile in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder was sent on a season-long loan for the 2019-20 campaign to Boca Juniors, and went on to make 19 appearances across the Argentina Super League and Copa Libertadores before arriving back on the south coast at the end of the 2020 winter transfer window after being recalled.

He made his Albion debut in March 2020, Graham Potter's side's last match before lockdown. After the restart, the midfielder was directly involved in the goal that secured Albion a 2-1 win over Arsenal, their first win of 2020.

Mac Allister grabbed his first Albion goal in a 4-0 home win over Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup in September 2020, before following that up with another strike in the next round; a 2-0 victory over Preston North End.

The popular Argentinian had his real breakthrough campaign in the 2021/22 season, making 33 league appearances, scoring five goals from midfield, as well as laying on two assists.

He signed a new three-year contract with us in October 2022, with a club option for another year.

Alexis became Albion's first ever player to win the World Cup in December 2022, as he played a major role in Argentina's success at the tournament.
