After progressing through Albion’s academy, Max Sanders broke into the under-23 side for the 2017/18 season, eventually captaining the side to promotion into the Premier League 2 Division 1.
The central midfielder scored his first goal of the 2017/18 campaign against Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium, before also finding the back of the net against Fulham and West Bromwich Albion.
Sanders was called into Albion’s first team for their visit to Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Emirates FA Cup, taking his place on the bench at Old Trafford.
During Albion’s debut season in the Premier League 2 Division 1, Sanders made 14 appearances, scoring twice against Blackburn Rovers away from home, helping the side to a third-placed finish.
Sanders has also represented England at under-19 level, and featured four times for the Young Lions at the 2018 Under-19 European Championships.
He joined League One side AFC Wimbledon on loan for the 2019/20 campaign, making his professional debut in the September against MK Dons. He made 20 appearances in total for the south-west London based side, scoring once.
The 22-year-old made his Albion first team debut as a substitute against Portsmouth in the Carabao Cup in September 2020, before making his full debut in the competition in a 2-0 win at Preston North End.
