Jose Izquierdo

Jose Izquierdo became Brighton & Hove Albion's club-record transfer in the summer of 2017 - a record which has now been broken again - as he signed a four-year contract from Club Brugge.

Hailing from the Colombian city of Pereira, Izquierdo - who wears the number 19 shirt for Albion - began his professional career with hometown club Deportivo Pereira. He moved to Once Caldas in 2013, before his move to Club Brugge in 2014.

In his three years with Brugge, he helped them win the Belgian Cup during his first season in 2014/15, and the Belgian League a year later - when he won the Golden Shoe, Belgium's Player of the Year Award.

In 2017 he was called up by the Colombian national team, and played in the summer friendly matches against Cameroon and Spain, scoring once.

Izquierdo came off the bench against Watford at Vicarage Road to make his Albion debut, almost finding the back of the net from 25 yards.

The Colombian fired his first Premier League goal against West Ham United at the London Stadium, before taking his goal tally to five for the season, including his Goal of the Season winner against the Hammers at the Amex Stadium.

The winger went on to make one appearance for Colombia at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, as he featured for his nation in their opening fixture against Japan.

Izquierdo missed the start and large chunk of the middle of the 2018/19 campaign due to a knee injury, and made a total of 17 appearances in all competitions for the Seagulls, before missing the entirety of the 2019/20 season through injury.
