Deniz Undav signed for Albion in January 2022 from Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, returning to the Belgian outfit for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.
Born in Germany, the 26-year-old began his career in the domestic leagues in his home country, playing for TSV Havelse, Eintracht Braunschweig and SV Meppen, before moving to Union ahead of the 2020/21 season.
His goals helped Union win promotion to the top division of Belgian football in 2021, before finishing as runners-up in the Jupiler Pro League.
Deniz's final season with Union saw him score 26 times, as well as laying on 13 assists, as he was named the Belgian Professional Footballer of the Year.
After not finding the back of the net in his first 14 Premier League appearances - of which he started once - the German had an excellent end to the season, scoring five goals in eight games, including a brace in our record 6-0 win over Wolves, as well as an excellent lob in our 3-0 victory at Arsenal.
He finished his first season with Albion with eight goals in all competitions, which he netted in just 921 minutes of action.
