A look at the goalkeeper's career.
David Button signed a three-year deal with the Seagulls in July 2018 from Fulham, as he came in to compete with Mathew Ryan and Jason Steele for the number one spot.
Button began his career at Tottenham Hotspur, before loan spells with a number of Football League sides, including Shrewsbury Town and Plymouth Argyle.
The former England under-20 international then made a permanent move across London to Charlton Athletic in 2012, before a switch to Brentford saw him become a mainstay at Griffin Park.
Button made over 140 appearances across three seasons for the Bees – playing all of the side’s league matches in both the 2014-15 campaign and the following 2015-16 season - before making the switch to fellow West Londoners Fulham that summer.
He made over 60 appearances for Slavisa Jokanovic’s side, including 20 games last season, as Fulham gained promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
The shot-stopper made his first Albion appearance in the 1-0 defeat to Southampton in the Carabao Cup back in August 2018.
