A look at the Cameroonian defender's career.
Gaetan Bong began his career in France with Metz and had a brief loan spell with Tours, before moving onto Valenciennes and made 87 appearances.
He moved on to Greek side Olympiakos in August 2013 and featured in four Champions League games, before joining Wigan Athletic on a free transfer in February 2015.
The Cameroonian made a total of 14 appearances for the Latics and played against Albion at the DW Stadium.
Bong represented his country at the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa and also played for France at under-21 level. He made his Albion debut against Nottingham Forest in the 2015/16 opening day win over Nottingham Forest.
The full-back made 24 appearances during the 2016/17 campaign which saw the Seagulls reach the Premier League, before making a further 25 in the top flight, as Chris Hughton's team finished 15th and maintained their top-flight status.
Bong continues to be a mainstay in the side in 2018/19, and earned an historic recall to the Cameroon squad in August after spending four years out of international football.
