Pascal Gross was Albion's first summer signing ahead of our debut Premier League season in 2017, as he joined from German side Ingolstadt 04. Pascal made close to 200 appearances in the top two tiers of the Bundesliga; and was Ingolstadt's standout player before joining the Seagulls. Born in Mannheim, Gross began his career with Hoffenheim in 2008, before switching to Karlsruhe in 2011 and then moving to Ingolstadt in 2012. He made his Albion debut in their opening Premier League fixture against Manchester City at the Amex Stadium, and went on to win the club's Player of the Season award after numerous impressive displays. The German fired home the club's first-ever Premier League goal against West Bromwich Albion, and also headed the all-important winning goal against Manchester United at the Amex, which secured the club's top-flight safety. Gross was on target against Manchester United again the following August, scoring from the penalty spot in a memorable 3-2 win at the Amex. He scored twice more during 2018/19, scoring a 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford, before netting a crucial equaliser in a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United in April. Pascal signed a new contract with Albion in April 2023, committing his future with the club until the end of the 2024/25 season. He currently sits behind just Mesut Ozil for the most assists made by a German in the Premier League.
