Billy Gilmour joined Albion on a four-year deal from Chelsea in September 2022. The 21-year-old came through the ranks with Rangers, before making the move to Chelsea in 2017. He made his Premier League debut aged 18 as a substitute against Sheffield United in 2019, before making two appearances in the Champions League in 2020/21 as Thomas Tuchel’s team won Europe’s biggest competition. Billy was an unused substitute in the final. He spent the 2021/22 season on loan with Norwich City, where he made 24 Premier League appearances. Billy made his debut for Albion three days after signing for the club, coming on as a late substitute in the 5-2 win over Leicester City. After a stop-start season, the Scotland international started five of our final eight Premier League matches of the campaign, playing the full 90 minutes in our record 6-0 victory over Wolves. He would become a regular during the 2023/24 season, making 41 appearances in all competitions, playing in every single one of our Europa League matches. Billy made his senior debut for Scotland in June 2021, having played at every age group for his country from under-15 level.
